Ultrasonic Cutting
Different areas of application are summarized under the term ultrasonic cutting. The 3 largest areas are food cutting, textile cut-off welding and ultrasonic blade cutting with carbide blades. When cutting food ultrasonically, the ultrasonic knives are usually completely machined out of a “block” of titanium. Typical applications are cutting sandwiches, cakes, cheese, muesli and other bars. Separating textiles is an alternative to hot cutting. However, since cold tools are used and the melt is generated by friction in the material, the sealing edge is less hard and hardly or not at all builds up despite the sealing.
The ultrasonic blade cut has been a cutting process for prepregs, honeycomb, carbon, glass, basalt and aramid fibers as well as vulcanized or unvulcanized raw rubber for over 30 years. As with the aforementioned areas of application, there are always special applications. In addition to the actual cutting tools, we have developed many supplementary products in the past that simplify system integration, increase safety or improve handling.
